This is a remote position.

Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company for an Intermediate Full Stack Developer to join their dynamic team. With a mission to stimulate wealth creation in Canadian farming communities, this company empowers rural entrepreneurs and reduces the cost of agricultural inputs. They connect international manufacturers with local retailers, streamlining the supply chain and driving economic growth. The ideal candidate will bring around 5 years of experience in full stack development, with a particular focus on frontend development using NextJS and backend development with NodeJS. Additionally, experience in AWS infrastructure is crucial, ensuring the platform remains scalable, secure, and efficient. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about using technology to empower farmers and is capable of independently solving complex problems across the stack, including devops.

Key Responsibilities:

Full Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain features on the platform using NextJS for frontend and NodeJS for backend.
Infrastructure Management: Deploy, manage, and scale applications using AWS services.
Collaboration: Work closely with the CTO and development team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
DevOps Support: Maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage cloud infrastructure.
Problem Solving: Address challenges across the stack, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
User Experience: Deliver a seamless user experience, making the platform intuitive and accessible.
Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making.
Agile Development: Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and team retrospectives, improving development processes.

Requirements

Experience: 5+ years in full stack development, particularly with NextJS and NodeJS.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in frontend technologies (React, NextJS), backend development (NodeJS, Express), and AWS services.
Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently and resolve complex technical issues.
Team Fit: Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and align with the mission of empowering rural communities.
Location: Must be based in Alberta, Canada, due to funding restrictions.
