Job Summary:

As Head of SEO, you will define and execute an industry-leading strategy that enables SEO to be a competitive advantage for the Boatsetter. With deep expertise in technical SEO, content strategy, and industry best practices, you will drive cross-functional teams to deliver programs and strategies that exponentially grow Boatsetter's organic traffic.  With an understanding of user personas, destinations, local conditions and marketplace-driven activities you’ll create site experiences that are great for conversion and rank well. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the SEO Strategy and Planning process. Conduct in-depth keyword research and analysis to identify high-value opportunities for organic search growth.  Drive related content strategies. 

  • Own SEO performance and drive KPIs for all organic LPs.  Drive rigorous testing/update strategy and a continuous improvement process.  

  • Be the internal SME on SEO, ensuring that teams are kept aware of opportunities and challenges; the ability to right-size and prioritize efforts to win in the short-term while thinking strategically about the long term; building new capabilities across teams, and the superpower of being able to influence teams cross functionally.

  • Perform regular SEO audits to identify technical issues, content gaps, and areas for improvement

  • Analyze competitor strategies and implement tactics to outperform them in search rankings

  • Drive content, development, and design resources to optimize on-page SEO elements

  • Monitor and report on key SEO metrics, providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement

  • Stay updated and keep the broader team informed on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices

  • Drive link-building efforts and related domain authority initiatives.

  • Coordinate with Marketing team on paid strategies, and promotional efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in leading SEO strategy, preferably in a highly competitive travel booking or marketplace environment.  Experience with large-scale sites and many thousands of keywords.

  • Experience with local and location based search challenges

  • Proven track record of improving organic search rankings and driving traffic growth

  • Deep knowledge of technical SEO concepts and best practices

  • Possess strong analytical skills with experience in utilizing SEO tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console, as well as other web analytics platforms. Additionally, proficient in writing raw SQL for in-depth data analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven experience as both an individual contributor and a player-coach, successfully leading and collaborating across teams of various sizes. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
