This role in a nutshell:

The Compliance Manager will support the Senior Compliance Manager in the strategic management of OVO’s compliance related priorities across its retail energy activities. This includes effective management and mitigation of escalated compliance risks, coordination of key regulatory engagement including information requests and external inquiries, and providing senior management teams with regular reporting on key areas of compliance.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Strategic risk management: supporting the Senior Compliance Manager and other members of the team in surfacing and managing compliance risk across OVO’s retail energy activities, including the development and maintenance of a robust risk management framework
  • Effective regulatory engagement: establishing and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and key external stakeholders, leading on timely and accurate responses to compliance inquiries and requests, and enhancing OVO’s regulatory position and reputation
  • Coordinating compliance-oriented change opportunities: identifying risks and opportunities that can be addressed through change, and supporting internal stakeholders in delivery
  • Successful stakeholder management: engaging and building relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders, driving proactive risk mitigation and effective issue management while acting as a liaison between OVO and the regulator
  • Accurate and constructive monitoring and reporting: develop and maintain complete and robust internal views of compliance risks and opportunities across OVO’s retail energy activities, including key metrics and updates for OVO’s senior management teams

You’ll be a successful Compliance Manager here at OVO if you…

  • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of retail energy supplier obligations, including Standard Licence Conditions, relevant legislation and regulatory intent
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex regulatory information in a clear and concise manner to a diverse range of audiences
  • Have experience in driving proactive change in the interests of risk management and regulatory excellence 
  • Can build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority 
  • Can analyse complex regulatory requirements and compliance issues accurately, providing clear and practical advice, guidance and solutions to business stakeholders
  • Can thrive in a dynamic environment, showing resilience and adaptability in response to evolving regulatory and business needs

We’ll pay you between £55,000 and £65,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
