About The Role:

To provide leadership, strategic input and analysis to oversee the integrity of the Workday system. Deliver Workday Solutions for the Giant Tiger support functions of the business (HR, Finance, Payroll) as a Workday Subject Matter Expert.

What You’ll be Doing:
  • Act as Workday subject matter expert in designing solutions to meet business requirements; document requirements, design and configure solution, test and implement solutions in production for both projects and enhancements

    (Workday area of specializations for these 3 positions are HCM, Payroll or Finance).

  • Stay abreast of new Workday functionality and provide recommendations for new features and SKUs (new product) to drive incremental ROI from our Workday platform and continuous improvement.  Actively participates in Workday community and related user groups.

  • Provide 2nd level Workday support for complex tickets, security and reporting requirements.

  • Develop test strategies, test plans and test cases. Execute testing as well as coordinate testing with the business team(s) while ensuring accuracy, accountability and traceability to the business requirements.

  • Deliver change management tools as required, i.e. Training (in-person, e-learning, process documentation, corporate communications).

  • Manage the L1 Workday System Analyst team responsible for day-to-day Tier 2 support, simple configurations, security admin and reporting. Responsible for KTLO and the overall integrity of the Workday system including but not limited to ownership of tenant level settings, security policy, change control process/procedures, auditing controls and escalation process.

  • Develop and maintain Workday roadmap (1-3 year). Act as a Workday Named Support Contact and the Workday Training Admin.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Business Systems, Human Resources, Finance) or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years' experience with HRIS, Payroll or Finance business applications

  • 5+ years' experience with Workday in Core HCM, Payroll or Finance

  • 3+ years' experience designing and configuring complex Workday solutions aligned to business requirements

  • 1+ years' experience designing complex security rules (i.e. create custom security roles & maintain domain security)

  • 2+ years' experience as an advanced Workday report writer (i.e. composite & matrixed reporting)

  • Proven track record of experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, listening, written documentation, influencing, facilitation, negotiation, presentation skills for technical and business audiences regardless of level 

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Team player with an exceptional work ethic, detail oriented and self-motivated

  • Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution

  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills

Assets You May Have:
  • Workday Administration Training/Certification preferred in one or more Core HCM, Payroll or Finance
  • Knowledge in additional Workday modules including but not limited to:  Recruitment, Time Tracking, Compensation, Scheduling, Learning Management System, Benefits, Adaptive Insights, Prism Analytics etc. 
  • Bilingualism
  • Previous retail experience
