Clinical Nurse II-Pediatric Endocrine Triage

 

$10,000 Commitment Bonus | Paid out in 4 equal installments over 24 months in 6-month increments (1+ years of experience). ​

Job Summary:

We are seeking a TRIAGE NURSE to be an integral member of our Specialty Engagement Center triage team. The position will manage this patient population via telehealth in order to coordinate care with providers.  The Triage Nurse position is based in Durham, NC at a non-clinical office site.  This position interacts with patients via telephone and secure messaging vs direct patient contact.  Once fully oriented, this work can be done as a hybrid model. This means a rotating schedule of working remotely and from the office.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing triage, assessment and education to patients via telephone interactions and secure messaging.
  • Manage patient needs including medication management, post procedure instructions and care coordination.
  • Serve as a liaison to patients, family members and referring providers with guidance from pulmonary providers.
  • Collect and analyze patient data, make recommendations for nursing care plans, evaluate nursing care provided, document and communicate appropriately nursing actions taken and patient responses.
  • Delegate tasks and direct the activities of unlicensed care providers (schedulers, Medical Assistants and Staff Assistants).
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings. 
  • Participate in performance improvement and patient experience activities.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

 

Job Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • You have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience and 1 year of med-surg experience.

 

Job Schedule:

8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. No weekends or Duke designated holidays
