Job Title: Senior Application Specialist - Workday Finance

Primary Location: Remote

Overview

TalentFish is casting a line for a Finance Senior Application Specialist. This is a direct hire role that while primarily remote, will require occasional visits to the company office located in Rosemont, IL.

The Senior Application Specialist of Workday Finance will serve as an IT SME across the Finance business domain with our premier client. They are accountable for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the systems under their charge and for supporting and implementing change and configuration management, including testing and defect management relating to new product implementations, development releases, upgrades, patches, and other system maintenance as required. Application Specialists will work closely with Business resources and stakeholders, internal Technology teams, and various vendors and third-party consultants and implementers. They must understand their application's interdependencies with other applications and infrastructure both internally and outside the corporate network. This Role will support Finance Organizations needs across Workday Finance areas General Accounting, Business Assets, Expenses and Suppliers. This role provides technical expertise related to the Workday Financial Management system, creating reports, integrations and other technical deliverables.

What You Bring To The Role. (Ideal Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of related experience with Workday Finance.
  • Workday accreditation (certification) in Workday Integrations and Studio is strongly desired.
  • Advance level experience in the following technologies or similar a plus:
    • Digital and Mobile Banking Platforms
    • Lending Solutions
    • General ledger, Reconciliation and/or ERP systems
    • Proficiency in one or more database system (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
    • SQL Server (SSIS, SSMS, SSRS, and SSAS) to support reporting and integration
    • Microsoft technologies (SQL, Azure, Office 365, .NET)
    • Application Programming Interfaces (API) and micro services technologies
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • ServiceNow
    • Knowledge on file transfer Software would be a plus
    • MuleSoft middleware
    • Upgrading finance applications
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)

  • Handling of day-to-day workflow (monitoring ticket system, e-mail, daily tasks, ongoing training). Level 2 support and troubleshooting of complex issues.
  • Support/Lead project activities including data mapping, completion of complex translation tables, reviewing conversion balancing and reconciliation reports, implementation of a new application, system functionality or integration.
  • Supporting line of business process improvement and efficiency initiatives. System tuning and optimization and supporting change management and product/project implementation.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and training and develop best practice processes and procedures. May include management of a team or other Application Specialists.
  • Technical Application(s) Ownership includes evaluating new releases/functionality and monitoring application road maps and support bulletins.
  • Ongoing knowledge of current and changing business and technological environments, trends and strategy is important to success. The successful candidate will be expected to stay up to date on their Workday knowledge.
  • Must be willing to spend approximately one week per month on call (24x7) in case any support issues arise.
