The Manual QA Engineer role is a critical component of our Product Technology team .

What You Will Do

  • Be a QA engineer in terms of "hands on" contributions and being a driving force of excellence amongst all QAs
  • Develop a deep understanding of your specific product area and understand how that area fits into the broader product offerings
  • Define test approaches with the team as part of new feature development so that functional and non-functional requirements are validated during development, surface risks and regression impacts
  • Help drive exploratory testing in your teams to find the sneaky issues & app crash
  • Be willing to ask questions and drive for clarity in acceptance criteria and expected behaviors. 
  • Own and improve any existing QA assets that add value, refactoring them to bring further improvements or replacing them if there are better options available. 
  • Contribute heavily to the QA community of practice and inspire the team to continuously improve
  • Collaborate with the automation engineers on your team to understand focus areas for exploratory testing that may not be supported by automation
  • Provide transparency on QA activities with your team to encourage collaboration across the team to support them. 
  • Work closely with developers, project manager, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC to understand and refine requirements and scope testing efforts for features
  • Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using JIRA
  • Communicate effectively with external and internal teams
  • Enjoy learning new skills and are passionate about new developments in technology 

What You Will Need

  • 5 years of experience in a QA engineer 
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and practices
  • Strong experience of hands-on testing native apps in iOS and Android
  • Must have good understanding of JIRA, Agile
  • Functional API/RESTful service testing experience with a tool like Postman or SmartBear 
  • Exposure with monitoring tools like Splunk/New Relic would be helpful  
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes in GitLab and how they are used for deployment and automation. 
  • Good troubleshooting skills. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the development team

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in a release role or working in a regulated environment is a strong bonus. 
  • A passion for sports, sports betting, online games, and/or casino games
  • Passion for achieving excellence in technical, process, product quality, and reliability
  • Being extremely detail and technology-oriented and possess excellent communication skills
  • Experience working on or closely with DevOps teams
  • A mix of experience with:
  • JavaScript/NodeJS, Testcafe/Playwright/cypress, WDIO UI framework 
  • Linux/Unix
  • Kubernetes/Docker
  • AWS platform experience
  • Kafka exposure
  • Cross-platform web browser testing tools like Browserstack or Saucelabs
  • Performance testing experience with tools like Gatling, K6 or others.
  • Splunk/New Relic monitoring
  • Terraform
  • Experience with either Java or Scala

This role is remote, with one required visit to your designated home office per quarter.

Home Office: Jersey City, NJ
