The Role:

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a consultant and advisor to the People Team by providing strategic employment law advice with respect to US matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, non-compete clauses, and other employment-related documents.
  • Partner with Legal and People Team and assist with the handling of phases of employment litigation and pre-litigation employment disputes.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Conduct internal investigations into employee complaints, such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws and regulations and advise the company on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
  • Provide training to management and HR staff on employment law issues, best practices, and company policies.
  • Support the company in handling employment-related issues during mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Provide support for commercial teams in the US.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment law, either in-house or at a law firm.
  • ​​Entrepreneurial mindset (flexible, self-starting and hard-working) in generating new and innovative solutions to build out the Legal & Compliance program.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively advise and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to handle ambiguity and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is listed below. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Neo4j’s compensation practices, job related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, in addition to geographic location. Based on the factors above, Neo4j utilizes the full width of the range.

In addition to the range below, US employees are eligible for a stock option grant and certain roles are eligible for an annual bonus. Employees in this position are also eligible to participate in the Company’s standard benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and certain leaves of absence.
