ABOUT THE COMPANY 

Productive Playhouse Inc. (PPH) is a global data company. From our start, forward thinking in language acquisition and carefully observed cultural experience have defined the Productive Playhouse mission and driven our teams.

Our growth into a full-service data company began in 2011 and has expanded rapidly over the last decade. PPH currently offers our clients a wide range of data services including transcription, translation, linguistic analysis, rating, systems testing, localization, field and studio recording, language skill verification, and sensitive and diversity-focused data handling, with additional services being added continuously.

JOB SUMMARY 

The current transcription project involves research for talk-to-text technology and transcribing audio in our online database. The task will be to listen to audio files, and type (transcribe) what you hear. Transcribers will be expected to transcribe a minimum of 4 minutes of audio utterances per hour. Some labeling of segments is required. The transcription must be completed according to a set of guidelines that you will be provided upon acceptance. The workload is dependent on project needs. 

Each such transcription project is prefaced by a shorter categorization project. The purpose of this assignment is to filter the data that will be later transcribed. The transcribers will first need to complete this categorization project before proceeding with the main transcription project. The task will be to listen to audio files in Persian and answer short questions about the language and quality of the audio. Transcribers will be expected to complete a minimum of 40 Questions per hour.

The project is being coordinated via Upwork. All transcribers will need to have an Upwork profile. Candidates who do not already have an Upwork profile are welcome to apply, but will need to create a profile after being hired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Listen to Farsi audio files and transcribe them accurately according to the provided guidelines.
  • Label segments as required.
  • Complete a categorization project to filter data before transcription.
  • Answer short questions about language and audio quality during the categorization project.
  • Meet minimum productivity requirements: 40 Questions per hour for categorization, and transcribe a minimum of 4 audio minutes per hour during the main transcription assignment.

REQUIREMENTS
