Job description

Position Details:

This position is part of the teaching faculty within the Culinary Arts and Hospitality department and
reports to the Department Chair. Culinary Arts and Hospitality instructors that can teach online as
well as on campus in Kilgore or Longview are needed.

Responsibilities:

This is a part-time faculty position. Responsibilities will include teaching one or more Culinary Arts
courses, developing appropriate course syllabi, and working with students as needed. Courses may
be online, face-to-face, or hybrid, and may occur during daytime or evening hours. Adjunct faculty
members teach and supervise all learning experiences and evaluate student performance in the
classroom.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of an associate's degree, preferably in Culinary Arts or Hospitality, plus a minimum of 5 years experience in the field (Applicants with a baccalaureate or graduate degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality do not need to have the five years' experience.)
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office is necessary.
  • Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated
  • commitment to the community college philosophy of education.
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
  • Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,700 per 3-hour course for an Associate's Degree, $2,000 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.
