This is a Coder III level position.  Coder will be responsible for all coding aspects of the Interventional Radiology department.  Coder will be expected to be able to charge extract, correctly apply diagnosis, correctly apply modifiers, understand NCCI edits and other regulatory requirements.  Coder will be in regular communication via email and messaging with the clinic staff to ensure compliant and appropriate coding. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains coding knowledge and billing regulations associated with CPT and ICD-10 codes, and modifiers.
  • Consults with Coding Managers on any edit discrepancies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Complete assigned work functions utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Participate in client and staff meetings, trainings, and conference calls as requested and/or required.
  • Participate in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge, skills, and maintain current credentials.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • An active AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) AHIMA (American Health Information Association) credentials CPC, CCS-P, CPC-H, or related specialty credential.
  • 5+ years professional coding experience in a large academic medical setting is required.
  • Experience in coding professional Interventional Radiology services is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS code sets.
  • Ability to consistently code at 95% threshold for quality and accuracy while maintaining client specific and/or Savista production and or quality standards.
  • Proficient computer knowledge including MS Office with ability to enter data, sort and filter excel files, (Outlook, word and excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills with all levels internal and external customers.
  •  Outstanding organization skills and time management required.
Note: Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The hourly range for this role is from $25.69 to $32.11. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
