Overview:

LMI is seeking a Contracts and Policy Analyst to support the F35 client. The individual will support contracting policy matters across the F-35 program and will have an in-depth understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expert assistance and complex administrative support to the government team. Research acquisition and contracting statutes and the origin of regulations, draft and edit regulatory text and Federal Register Notices, and develop economic cost analyses to assess and document the public burden. Investigate how prospective changes will affect regulations.
  • Prepare rule-making publication packages by performing contract statutory and regulatory research; drafting and editing the approval process documents, summaries of proposed rules, regulatory text, and responses to questions or comments; and coordinating with government agencies for reviews and approvals.
  • Manage the preparation and renewal of Paperwork Reduction Act packages. Research the impact of current information collection requirements, verify need for the information, consolidate data, and draft the notices and supporting statements.
  • Prepare and edit formal staffed packages.
  • Attend and participate in meetings. Prepare briefings as appropriate.
  • Manage multiple assignments from multiple people in busy work environment.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • US Citizen with a current DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the contract management lifecycle.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience as an acquisition analyst/project analyst/coordinator.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Assist requirement owners with refining, assessing, documenting, and maintaining requirements in preparation for review board meetings to convey key program objectives, their relative contributions to the mission, and estimated costs.
  • Ability to speak with confidence and energy in public, in person, over the phone, and with senior executives when necessary.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, a high level of integrity, critical thinking, and leadership.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills – including the ability to develop solutions in new and creative ways.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

Desired:

  • 2 years' experience in defense acquisition and contracting.
  • DAWIA Contracting or National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Certification
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.02 Acquisition Regulation.
