iSpice located in Cortland, NY is looking for a Facilities Plumber to join our team! 

 

The Facilities Plumber will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the plumbing systems within our manufacturing plant. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to plumbing, such as designing, implementing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to create and maintain the facility's plumbing infrastructure in excellent working condition. The Facilities Plumber will work closely with the Facilities Supervisor and other maintenance personnel to contribute to a safe, efficient, and productive working environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Upgrades: Install new plumbing systems for water and compressed air, steam and condensate, fixtures, and equipment as needed for facility expansion or upgrades, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and safety standards.
  • Plumbing System Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the plumbing systems throughout the manufacturing plant, including compressed air lines, steam and condensate lines, water supply lines, drain lines, and sewer systems, to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair plumbing-related problems, such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures, in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime and maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Pipefitting: Perform pipefitting tasks, including cutting, threading, and joining pipes to ensure proper flow and alignment of plumbing systems.
  • Backflow Prevention: Implement and maintain backflow prevention measures to safeguard potable water quality and prevent contamination.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for emergency plumbing repairs and respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests to mitigate potential risks and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all plumbing-related work, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks, using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other relevant documentation methods.
  • Compliance: Stay up to date with plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards, ensuring that all plumbing work adheres to the necessary guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Facilities team and other departments to address cross-functional maintenance issues and contribute to overall plant efficiency and productivity.
Remote Position: false Min Compensation : USD $25.00/Hr. Max Compensation : USD $32.00/Hr. Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Plumber certification or equivalent trade license.
  • Proven experience as a plumber, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and fixtures.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and plumbing schematics.
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to plumbing.
  • Ability to use plumbing tools and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
