Job Title:  Head of Reinsurance

Location: United States

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with both internal and external colleagues in managing the reinsurance renewal process, analyzing and optimizing reinsurance structures, reviewing contracts, and monitoring the reinsurance program during the treaty year.  This role requires a deep understanding of reinsurance principals and strong strategic planning skills. 

What you will do as a Head of Reinsurance

  • Drive the development of treaty structure design, ensuring appropriate cost and effective coverage.
  • Own the negotiation of treaty coverage including reinsurance contracts and pricing
  • Maintains exceptional broker and reinsurer relationships
  • Oversee policies related to risk evaluation of exposures and pricing structures. 
  • Prepares reinsurance proposals for approval from Porch leadership which could include the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for reinsurance related policies including Collateral and Credit Verification and Collateral Release policies.
  • Monitors treaty loss activity and determines appropriate actions/notifications.
  • Directs reinsurance audits.
  • Provides technical guidance, assistance, and training.
  • Ability to detail complex reinsurance concepts to all levels of the organization including C suite.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborates closely with Finance and Accounting.
  • Occasional travel to Dallas Ft Worth area

What you will bring as a Head of Reinsurance

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferably in business, accounting, or related field of study; an MBA is preferred.
  • Associate of Reinsurance (Are) preferred.
  • 15+ years of Insurance experience with a proven track record of successful reinsurance experience.
  • Requires significant knowledge of reinsurance guidelines and procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly to senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities and projects effectively.
  • Deep understanding of reinsurance, including trends, regulations and competitive landscape.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member 

Pay Range*: $157,500.00 - $220,500.00 annually 

*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.

Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals. 
 
You will also be eligible to receive an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
