Job description

Position Summary:

Insights, the research arm of CAQH, is responsible for managing the coordinated CAQH data-driven research agenda consisting of both internally identified and externally focused research projects. The research portfolio is comprised of both ongoing established projects, and new research opportunities focusing on the adoption of healthcare data exchange standards and their impact on the administrative workflow between providers and health plans.

The Sr. Healthcare Research Analyst serves a critical role in helping lead the healthcare industry in measuring progress towards full automation of administrative transactions and helping evaluate healthcare operating rules and solutions to simplify administrative business functions by moving to electronic processes. The position will use data and analytic skills to measure and report on the time and cost savings associated with streamlining administrative business processes across the healthcare industry. The position will work with the Sr. Director to draft reports and issue briefs related to findings and insights.

The Sr. Healthcare Research Analyst reports to the Sr. Director, Insights. This is a is a full-time, remote, exempt position.

Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 annually.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Leads creation of CAQH Index report and research:
    1. Responsible for the collection of quantitative and qualitative data as it relates to healthcare revenue cycle.
    2. Manages and maintains database to ensure accurate and timely data.
    3. Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data, interprets findings, and writes the first draft of the annual report and associated reports and issue briefs.
    4. Leads and conducts literature/article reviews to support research topics related to healthcare data exchange.
    5. Interacts with vendors, external stakeholders, and/or audiences to support research.
    6. Leads the coordination and management of project tasks, including communications and outreach activities.
    7. Presents findings to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Conducts analyses to support company initiatives:
    1. Works collaboratively with CAQH staff to identify and support research that promotes value and CAQH as a thought leader in the healthcare arena.
    2. Helps draft and manage research designs and methodologies. 
    3. Conducts statistical analyses and drafts reports and presentations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None.

Skills: 

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic capabilities to compile, distill, and interpret data.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly convey findings and insights to broad audiences.
  • Ability to take complex topics and synthesize into user-friendly documents such as issue briefs, PowerPoint presentations, and annual reports to stakeholders. 
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle and the key parties involved is desirable. 
  • Ability to simultaneously perform multiple assignments and follow work plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Desire and ability to learn new and challenging content areas.
  • Is inspired by the work of CAQH and motivated to have a positive impact on simplifying the business of healthcare. 
  • Maintains an intellectual curiosity about how to accomplish this goal through industry collaboration. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience in the healthcare industry with a bachelor’s degree or minimum of two years of related work experience in the healthcare industry with a master’s degree.
  • Experience using statistical software programs such as R or Stata to analyze and manage data.
  • Experience with data collection and research methodologies and techniques, such as survey design, analysis of primary and secondary data, and structured interviews. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; public health, healthcare policy, healthcare research or a related field. 
  • Master’s degree preferred.
