The Founder:

Tooba Durraze is the Founder/CEO of Amoeba AI. Radically interdisciplinary by design, Tooba has spent over a decade leading AI, data, and product teams, from academia, scaling startups to enterprises like Qualified, World Economic Forum, and MIT. Tooba was mostly recently Vice President of Product Strategy at Qualified, and holds a PhD in Computer Science from MIT.

What You Are Looking For:

You are excited by the energy, focus, and white space of an early-stage startup. You want to own the engineering stack end-to-end, architect and be the hands-on builder as a founding engineer.

You find any of the below questions intriguing and challenging:

• How can we design and implement robust testing frameworks to ensure that our AI-driven insights are accurate, transparent and explainable to end-users?
• What strategies will ensure our AI outputs are reliable, unbiased, and aligned with user goals?
• How do we create a flexible, extensible architecture that fosters innovation?
• How can we future-proof our platform to embrace the rapid evolution of AI technologies?
• What methods will optimize our database for speed, data integrity, scalability, and security?
• How can we experiment with emerging technologies to push our platform’s limits?

What We Are Looking For:

• Strong technical competencies with hands-on experience in full-stack software development. We usually find this develops over 6+ years to reach the breadth and depth of a senior software developer, but apply anyway if you meet the bulk of what we’re looking for!

• You're well-versed in a modern tech stack. We're working with: Vercel, TypeScript (Next.js, React), Python, Postgres, AWS.

• You’ve demonstrated a strong propensity to learn, experiment and apply yourself in new technical areas successfully.

• You’ve navigated building product in the early-stages of a startup, and have proven yourself to be a self-starter in these environments.

Bonus Points:

• You’ve tinkered (professionally or for fun) with LLMs, agentic workflows, knowledge graphs, MLOps, productionalizing models, cleaning up data, and everything in between.

• Highly curious about engineering beyond immediate discipline with a desire to stay at the cutting edge of applied AI.
