Position Summary:
The Relationship Banker assists members with a full range of financial products and services in a retail branch setting, including banking transactions, product sales, handling negotiables and offering excellent service. The incumbent performs all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements and with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties
Performs a wide variety of banking transactions with minimal supervision.
Opens new member accounts and processes loan applications.
Delivers exceptional member service, ensuring requests and/or issues are researched and resolved in a timely manner.
Cross-sells Tech CU products/services, as appropriate, using consultative sales techniques and clearly articulating features and benefits to members.
Participates in offsite business development events, such as Member Company wellness fairs and community activities, and activities, such as phone campaigns.
Meets or exceeds sales goals ethically and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Enters qualified sales referrals into designated tracking system.
Receives and dispenses various denominations of coin and currency.
Processes all transactions accurately and efficiently, while maintaining member confidentiality.
Opens, closes and balances cash drawer daily, ensuring proper handling of cash and negotiables.
Occasionally travels to and works in branches outside of home branch as directed by manager.
Maintains current knowledge of Tech CU products/services and competitive landscape.
Participates in Tech CU training as guided by manager, including compliance, product knowledge and soft skills.
Attends staff and company-wide meetings.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time; typically 37-40 hours/week
8:45am-5:15pm, M-F, rotating Saturdays 9:30am-2:30pm
Occasional overtime
Flexibility to occasionally work early or late hours, and extended weekend hours, typically with advance notice

Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in related disciplines, including sales, customer service or financial services preferred, but not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong sales, service and team orientation
Strong organization and verbal/written communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, with solid basic mathematical skills
Basic Microsoft Office and keyboarding skills
Ability to navigate multiple software applications
Ability to work independently, utilizing tools to find information
Understanding of financial products/services and industry regulations preferred

Licensing: Upon employment, must enroll and maintain registration with Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) under Tech CU’s company registration.
Travel: May be required to travel occasionally to Tech CU locations outside of home branch, typically with advance notice. May be required to occasionally attend offsite training, meetings or events, typically with advance notice. Overnight travel unlikely.

Equipment Used: Routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copier and other devices.
Physical Requirements: This position requires:
Sight to distinguish between various denominations of coin and currency
Speaking and listening to interact with members and team in person or via phone
Standing for up to 4 hours per day
Reading a computer screen and perform keyboarding tasks for up to 70% of the day
Occasional bending or stooping to reach lower drawers
Occasional lifting (25 pounds or less) may be necessary

PAY AND BENEFITS
This is a grade 102 position, with a salary range from $51,000 to $71,000 with bonus potential of 5%. The anticipated range for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience. Tech CU is a pay-for performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of our market and we provide incentive-based compensation aligned with successful accomplishment of individual and corporate goals. The salary mentioned above is based on working in San Jose, CA. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely.
Additionally, Tech CU provides health care benefits, life and disability insurance, 12 paid holidays and 401k with a company match; along with employee paid voluntary benefits. 5.54 Paid Time Off (PTO) hours accrue per bi-weekly paycheck (18 days per year) and will increase with length of service. Eight hours of Voluntary Time Off (VTO) are granted to full time employees annually to dedicate time to charitable organizations. Leaves of absences are available in adherence with state and federal regulations.
