Job Overview & Responsibilities:

Emergent is seeking a Sales Engineer - Red Hat to help our sales team support both civilian and DoD customers. This is a technical pre-sales role responsible for aligning technology solutions to business objectives. This role focuses on excellence in collaborating with the sales team and clients to architect Red Hat solutions, deliver compelling product demos and technical value propositions, design proofs-of-concept (POCs), and deliver enablement workshops with our clients around solutions such as RHEL, Satellite, Smart Management, Ansible, and OpenShift. This role works closely with Account Managers, Solutions Engineers, consulting teammates, Red Hat sales teams, and public sector clients. Responsibilities and Essential Duties 

·     Actively support sales and customers with technical product support across RHEL, Satellite, Smart Management, Ansible, OpenShift, and other open-source technologies.  

·     Provide technical expertise and support for proofs-of-concept, workshops, technology events, and other technology enablement and adoption activities.

·     Design open-source solutions for our clients, including documenting requirements and specifications and developing strategies to solve complex technical challenges. 

·     Communicate proactively and independently with external and internal stakeholders. 

·     Assist in driving the technical roadmap of the RHT practice and providing technical expertise in support of the sales and consulting teams.

·     Collaborate with infrastructure teams to define practices for platform deployment, project lifecycle, platform hardening, resiliency, security, operations, and maintenance.  

·     Maintain and enhance automation in support of setup and provisioning of new projects for Ansible and OpenShift. 

·     Support continuous learning for the sales team to further develop the Emergent Red Hat knowledge and skillset. 

·     Collaborate with solutions specialists and consulting lead to determine best-fit resources for projects.   

·     Communicate regularly with the sales and consulting team members to provide support as needed. 

·     Lead technical presentations and attend key industry events in support of the public sector sales teams.

·     Work with stakeholders to improve processes, team culture, and operating efficiency across the organization. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • 5-7 years of industry experience with 2+ years of RHT product experience and experience working with customers, ensuring they understand the technical value of the RHT products 
  • Knowledge or experience in DoD industry preferred
  • 1+ years in a hands-on technology-focused role
  • Completion of the Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280) course, successfully earning the RedHat Certified Specialist certification and/or the Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) is a plus

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs) 

·        Ability to demonstrate subject matter expertise specifically with RHEL, Ansible, Satellite, Smart Management and OpenShift. 

·        Ability to present technical value propositions and key benefits to decision-makers within Emergent’s client base

·        Ability to host and lead technical workshops for key customers as part of Emergent’s technical workshop program

·        Ability to demonstrate knowledge of containers and Kubernetes  

·        Ability to demonstrate best practices around microservices architecture.  

·        A strong understanding of Linux tools with an emphasis on cURL, Git, and Wireshark.  

·        Ability to be an effective troubleshooter and evaluate the proper Red Hat technical solution for individual client needs.  

·        Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects. 

·        Ability to creatively and resourcefully problem-solve both independently and with a team. 

·        Ability to effectively communicate with and present to executive-level clients and describe complex processes to audiences with varying skill levels. 

·        Ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment, work independently and multitask. 

·        Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.  

·        Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 

·        Ability to lead by example and promote a positive, collaborative team environment. 

·        Ability to work effectively in a telecommuting environment.
