Your missions

The Regional Business Leader, Rare Disease Franchise, is a key role representing an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact to drive the launch of the organization’s first rare disease brand. This first line leader role will serve as a critical resource to their team and the organization as an expert in disease state, selling process, product knowledge, and customer engagement in the rare disease space.  This individual will also be responsible for maximizing revenue by driving sales activity and providing leadership to the Trofinetide Account Managers team in your regional area. This individual will oversee implementation of Acadia’s sales/marketing disease, diagnostic and branded education awareness programs and will maintain effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers.

To be successful, the Regional Business Leader must be a strategic, resourceful, proactive, and nimble leader who can quickly work to enable their team's success – guiding, planning, lowering barriers, and leveraging opportunities and resources. This role requires a commitment to collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver on customer needs and exceed business goals.

Lead and Coach Account Management Team

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and develop top performing Account Managers.
  • Build a winning, patient-focused culture – and model it by establishing strong relationships directly with important stakeholders in the Rett community.
  • Motivate and inspire a team toward a common vision.
  • Contribute to the oversight and guidance of Acadia, and represent well its mission and values.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies.
  • Ensure a high level of Clinical Acumen, Business Acumen and customer service is delivered to all customers.
  • Evaluate Account Manager behaviors and alignment to Acadia’s values – providing recognition or identifying development areas as appropriate.
  • Conduct field visits and follow up coaching reports on a regular basis where you coach Account Managers on the key principles of customer engagement and cross-functional collaboration, as well as territory and account management.
  • Handle personnel issues in a timely fashion as they arise.
  • Collaborate with their team to create robust development plans for success in current and future roles with Acadia

Drive and Manage the Business

  • Provide strong leadership in the assigned geography, ensuring market penetration and share growth through oversight of the development and implementation of regional business plans.
  • Determine and effectively prioritize optimal resource allocation across Region by leading Account Manager Team to identify and select programs/resources available and appropriate for each customer, practice, and/or system.
  • Regularly utilize a variety of analytical tools to understand and evaluate the business to best determine how to lead and coach your team to accomplish sales objectives and apply resources in an effective and ethical/compliant manner.
  • Work with regional team to develop a local business plan that ensures achievement of goals and sales objectives. Create clear expectations and hold the team accountable to them.
  • Maintain a current understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers and anticipate future changing dynamics/emerging trends that could impact regional business. Routinely and proactively shares such information with relevant Acadia stakeholders (e.g., Sales and Commercial Leaders).

Collaborate

  • Engage in extra-curricular corporate projects across various organizational functions that impact the greater organization in the community.
  • Work with cross functional partners in the development of strategic business plans at the Regional level that will drive top line growth for the organization.
  • Work with Commercial Effectiveness Training team in the execution of New Hire as well as ongoing continuous improvement skill based training.
  • Support the Commercial Brand team with ongoing front line feedback and insight in the ideation and development innovative approved resources that will advance organizational business objectives for the patients we serve.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Life Sciences or related field.  Targeting 8+ years progressively responsible experience in rare disease or specialty commercialization, including sales management; a focus on neuroscience and rare disease commercialization preferred. Previous rare disease launch experience strongly preferred.   An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. 

  • Demonstrated leadership and field coaching ability
  • Exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business (e.g., Sales training, Sales operations, Managed care, and Marketing) preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with key customers and build networks within the medical community.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to comply to strict policy, work in a highly regulated environment, and maintain confidential information and data.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must live within the boundaries of the region or a directly neighboring region, and near a major airport as significant overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment and independently from remote locations.  Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 70% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. 

Salary Range
$144,000$180,000 USD
