Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

Who We Are

eBay is the leading Collectibles marketplace platform in the world, selling to millions of customers globally. Our mission is to be the most trusted destination for collectors of trading cards, memorabilia, comics, coins, toys and more.

To accomplish this, we always put the collector first and hire the very best to join our team. eBay would not be what it is today without our outstanding employees - from Category Managers to Customer Support and everyone in between. We take great pride in hiring and developing top talent who can add to our culture and believe in our mission. eBay is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing market segment and engage with a passionate community of collectors and enthusiasts, encouraging a vibrant and dynamic marketplace.

Who You Are

Are you an experienced Category Manager looking to work with sellers in the Coins and Comics industry? If so apply here!

The Opportunity

The eBay Collectibles team is seeking a dynamic Category Manager to lead and grow our Coins & Comics businesses. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape one of the most passionate and high-impact segments of eBay’s marketplace. You will work externally with sellers and brands as well as internally with Product Teams, Marketing, and Analytics to influence and drive our business goals. Alongside the Collectibles Team, you will grow our selection, improve our trust with customers (buyer and sellers), and deliver the best possible collecting experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Seller Performance. Build strong relationships with key sellers and partners, providing them with the tools and insights needed to optimize their performance and succeed on eBay.

  • Grow Selection. Identify and source relevant and market leading inventory to support execution of category strategy. Collaborate with Business Development partners to onboard new sellers, brands, and partners to cultivate a diverse marketplace.

  • Improve Buyer and Seller Trust. Manage eBay's buyer and seller trust metrics through projects that help customers feel more comfortable buying and selling on eBay.

  • Strategy Development & Execution. Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy to enhance the Coins & Comics categories, maximising market insights and trends to drive growth, increase market share, and stay ahead of the competition.

  • Business Reporting: Analyze category performance to understand the key levers/drivers and report on the business critical metrics including conversion rate, ASP, top buyer/seller growth, listings growth, lead time, CSAT and more on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

  • Site Merchandising: Responsible for defining a 52-week calendar outlining key retail moments, and seasonal events where eBay should show up on the homepage and category pages; partnering with the merchandising team to build onsite events that generate relevancy, visibility, and GMV growth.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work cross functionally across eBay teams to drive key initiatives. Collaborate with the customer service team to address and resolve category-specific issues and concerns. Work closely with the product team to improve tools and features specific to the Coins & Comics categories. Partner with Marketing to craft effective marketing strategies.

What You Bring to the Team

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in an online retail or marketplace environment (merchandising or startup experience valued)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt strategies to meet changing marketplace trends

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with sellers and other industry stakeholders

  • Experience influencing & negotiating with external partners

  • Executive-level presentation and communication skills

  • Proactive and creative problem solver with the ability to develop and implement innovative strategies to drive category growth and improve the customer experience

  • Bonus = Passion for Coins and/or Comics with a broader curiosity about Collectibles and experience in the space
