Benefits Specialist to join the team in
Seattle, WA.

The
Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting administration of team member health and welfare benefits and communicating benefits and policy information as needed to team members and healthcare providers. The position works with the HR team to support benefit initiatives. The
Benefits Specialist demonstrates BGIS values.
Responsibilities
Administration
- Assist in administering team member benefits programs such as retirement plans; basic hospital, medical, surgical, and major medical plans; term life insurance plans; temporary disability programs; and accidental death policies.
- Act as liaison between team member, Third-Party Administrator, and healthcare providers to assist in communicating benefit and policy information.
- Assist with billing or coverage issues as needed.
- Provide assistance to team members regarding benefit claim issues, plan changes, or general questions
- Assist in ensuring team member census data is accurate and timely, including data entry as needed.
- Assist with annual open enrollment.
- Assist in managing leave management program in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Prepare and process vendor invoices for various benefit vendors.
- Respond to requests for information, both internally and externally.
- Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and two (2) years of experience in Human Resources and/or benefits administration preferred.
- Knowledgeable of benefit regulations both federally and by state.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with extremely detailed and complex data required.
- Highly developed sense of urgency required.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
- Collaborative approach with other HR specialty areas and contribute positively to overall teamwork.
- Time management skills to prioritize competing requests and activities.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Current valid driver’s license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement.

The salary range for this non-exempt position in the US is $25-28.
A candidate’s salary offer is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, certifications, licenses, and location.
