Job Description

The Manager of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This includes managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and implementing effective internal controls. The Manager of Accounting partners closely with the Finance leadership to provide strategic financial guidance and support the overall business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage and supervise the general ledger accounting team, including assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing performance feedback
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, payroll, and month-end close processes
  • Oversee the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies to ensure financial data integrity
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to department heads, providing financial analysis and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal/regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on special projects, audits, and other initiatives
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and other third-party service providers
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems


Qualifications

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA required
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Strong technical accounting skills with expertise in financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite preferred), spreadsheets, and other relevant technologies
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing accounting team
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and staying up-to-date with industry trends.

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 - $110,000 annually, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
