Position Overview: We are looking for an accomplished Brand Manager to lead strategic growth and stewardship of the Natural Balance brand. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking, creative prowess, and a deep understanding of consumer behavior within the pet sector.   This candidate will have experience with commercialization, base brand management and campaign administration.   Pet experience is a plus, but not a requirement.  A love of pets is a welcomed advantage!

 

The Brand Manager will work remotely, and report to the Director. The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Brand Strategy Development: Lead the development of comprehensive brand strategies that align with the company's growth objectives, market trends, and consumer insights within the pet industry
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product development, and creative departments to ensure cohesive execution of brand initiatives and alignment with overall company goals
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify consumer trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities, translating insights into actionable strategies
  • Product Portfolio Management: Oversee the positioning, messaging, and branding for the Natural Balance product portfolio, ensuring consistent representation and differentiation in the market
  • Campaign Planning and Execution: Drive the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, from concept development to post-campaign analysis
  • Consumer Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance consumer engagement and loyalty, leveraging various channels such as social media, influencer partnerships, and direct interactions
  • Data-driven Decision Making: Analyze marketing performance data, consumer behavior, and sales trends to refine strategies, optimize campaigns, and report on key performance indicators to senior management
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the brand's marketing budget effectively, allocating resources to maximize impact and achieve strategic objectives
  • Brand Guidelines and Integrity: Ensure consistent adherence to brand guidelines, maintaining brand voice, aesthetics, and values across all touchpoints
  • Other duties as assigned 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in brand management or related roles within the pet industry, consumer goods, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful brand strategy development and execution.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing market dynamics and priorities.
  • Must be willing to submit a background check and drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Prior experience in the pet industry is a strong plus, demonstrating a passion for pets and experience in the pet industry is a welcomed advantage

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication vehicles including verbal and written mechanisms
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office technology 
  • Ability to observe details at close range 
  • Occasionally travel for work up to 5% of the time
  • Occasionally Ascend/descend stairs
