Job description

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Coding Auditor/Educator to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN

Function in a fully accountable role with respect to monitoring the overall quality of inpatient coding and the constant improvement thereof.

  • Responsible for auditing inpatient coding across all Baptist Health entities, ensuring that System goals and objectives are met.

  • Reports findings to leadership.

  • Responsible for the education of inpatient coding staff

  • Develops and performs inpatient coding educational sessions.

  • Assist in the training of new inpatient coding staff.

  • Provide leadership for ICD-10 ongoing education.

  • Assist with development and maintenance of system coding policies and procedures.

  • Assists the CDC director in the development of the inpatient coding compliance plan

  • Assists the System Compliance department during external and internal inpatient coding audits.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience inpatient coding WITH a certification listed below

  • AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer

Certifications/licenses required:

Minimum of ONE or more of the following, required

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) with bachelor’s degree

  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with bachelor’s degree

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) with RHIT or RHIA

  • Master’s Degree Highly desired

Professional Organization:

  • Member of AHIMA required.
