TITLE: Tactical Communications (TCOM) Portfolio Manager

LOCATION: Remote or Virginia Beach Headquarters

Travel: 50-75%

Purpose: Our Mission at ADS Inc. is to actively seek our customers' equipment and logistical challenges and deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions. As we focus on growing our business, our Portfolio Managers are responsible for leading a team of sales representatives who are directly responsible for providing product and procurement guidance, to ensure the warfighter receives the equipment they need to complete their mission. As the Tactical Communications (TCOM) Portfolio Manager, you will have the opportunity to support these efforts on our leadership team here at ADS.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:  The TCOM Portfolio Manager is a part of the C5ISR Sales Division.  You will be the Leader for all TCOM related business within the company.  You will oversee a team of Business Development (BD) personnel responsible for programmatic sales within the TCOM portfolio, as well as a team of Category Managers who support ADS partner suppliers.  You will have the opportunity to participate in every step of data driven decision-making processes to include (but not limited to) coaching and development of sales representatives, actively engaging in deal strategy and negotiations, hiring top talent, holding the team accountable, and ensuring legendary customer service for all our partner suppliers and TCOM customers.

This position will oversee the core business functions below. Specific execution will be carried out by Category Managers, Supplier Account Representatives, Program Sales Personnel, and a Program Manager. Portfolio Managers may assume a "player-coach" role on any of these business functions depending upon the organizational needs.

Performance Standards: The TCOM Team and your success will be measured by customer and supplier satisfaction, hitting annual territory and team goals, team engagement and overall sales growth.

Work Environment:

  • Extensive travel required (about 75% or 2-3 weeks of every month)
  • Occasional weekends, holidays, and after business hours

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of business development experience with a track record of capture and program management within the Tactical Communications industry
  • 5+ years of experience with US Government contracting and acquisition
  • Broad, exceptional understanding of DoD programmatic customers, operations, and requirements coupled with key industry supplier relationships
  • Strong understanding of government acquisition and contract vehicles
  • Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to easily communicate complex ideas, issues and processes to a diverse audience
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent experience at ADS or military may be acceptable upon hiring managers discretion
  • Prior experience in management or leadership role is preferred
