Overview:

We are looking for an experienced, Staff or Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer to join the Engineering Operations group. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in improving our observability, modernizing our pipeline delivery, and ensuring the reliability of our systems, all while contributing to our mission of empowering organizations with innovative HR solutions.

In this role, you'll design and manage Kubernetes clusters on Azure, enhance our observability stack, and modernize our CI/CD pipeline. You'll collaborate closely with development, QA, and product teams, lead incident response efforts, and mentor junior engineers, ensuring our systems are reliable, scalable, and secure.

The position reports to the DevOps Manager, who reports to the VP of Engineering.

The Opportunity:
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Implement and maintain SRE best practices to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems.
  • Observability: Enhance our observability stack to provide comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing capabilities. Implement tools and practices to improve visibility into system performance and health.
  • Kubernetes on Azure: Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters on Azure. Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our containerized applications.
  • Pipeline Automation: Modernize our CI/CD pipeline to improve efficiency, speed, and reliability. Implement automation tools and processes to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the development process. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and automation.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of DevOps experience, focusing on site reliability engineering, observability, and pipeline automation.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, specifically on Azure.
  • Strong experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps.

Perks and Benefits:

Compensation: The pay range for this position is expected to be between $160,000-$190,000/year OTE; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized, non-discriminatory factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, and equity. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program, including health and wellness benefits, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
