Job description

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the world’s largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. The company’s AI-driven platform, DriveWell Fusion®, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices — including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices — and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behavior. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMT’s platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers across the world every day.

CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative site reliability engineering team member who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

Responsibilities:

  • Help resolve requests from or issues raised where Site Reliability Engineering assistance is needed
  • Monitor the production infrastructure using tools such as Datadog, PagerDuty, and CloudWatch Logs and help identify opportunities to improve scalability and efficiency
  • Help maintain the production infrastructure, performing tasks such as updating AMIs and installing the latest security patches on a regular basis
  • Perform regularly scheduled production changes such as service updates
  • Help the Security Operations team to ensure that we are meeting compliance requirements (i.e. ensuring that endpoint security is deployed, etc.)
  • Assist other members of the SRE team on planned project work
  • Following extensive onboarding, participate in the on-call rotation as a level 1 responder and participate in incident response
  • Creating and updating runbooks for repetitive tasks
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, and/or IT systems administration
  • Entry to mid-level programming skills in at least one programming language, preferably Python

  • Entry to mid-level knowledge and experience with infrastructure-as-code platforms, preferably Terraform
  • Entry to mid-level knowledge and experience working with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) and applications (i.e. NGINX, Cassandra)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Fair and competitive salary based on skills and experience
