 Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $21.50

Language World is a leading language solutions provider and employer of elite professionals. We are highly experienced innovators and focused on bridging language and cultural understanding. For over 20 years, we’ve given our clients and the Limited-English Community a voice. Interpreters facilitate communication and bridge cultural divides between healthcare providers and their Limited and Non-English Proficient Patients. Services are delivered via video phone to a nationwide client base.  

We have openings for Spanish Interpreters in our state-of-the-art call center which has spacious workstations and several lounge areas for you to enjoy.


This position is full-time; the work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm  or  8 am - 5 pm


What you will be doing as a Spanish Interpreter: 

  • Grasping ideas spoken and heard only once, then convey these ideas in a second language instantly, accurately, completely, and adhering to the style and intent of the speaker. 
  • Providing cultural frameworks as necessary to bridge understanding between parties. 
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding personal or healthcare issues or any other information learned in an interpreting encounter as required by HIPAA. 
  • Troubleshooting technical issues including the Internet, phone, and headsets. 
  • Recording client and technical issues as directed. 
  • Providing stellar customer service to clients. 
  • Maintaining adequate productivity levels. 
  • Other administrative duties as assigned 

Requirements
  • Native Fluency In Spanish 
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of anatomy, major body systems, and medical terminology in Spanish and English 
  • Exceptional communication skills which include conveying essential information accurately, listening effectively, and asking questions where clarification is needed 
  • Must successfully pass the pre-screening test, applicable background screenings, and drug screening tests 
  • Ability to professionally communicate with various diverse backgrounds and cultures 
  • Exhibit and maintain professional and ethical behavior at all times 
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task when work circumstances become fast-paced 
  • 40 Hours of Interpreting Training 
  • Professional Interpreting Experience 
  • Comfortability using Internet and technology 
  • HS Diploma/GED (or higher preferred) or relevant educational experience 
  • Must pass written and oral national certification (CCHI) within 12 months of hire date. 
  • Must be available during business hours
