Assistant Corporate Controller plays a critical role in the execution of the monthly/quarterly/annual consolidation and reporting requirements of the company.  He/she is involved in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements under IFRS and holds the responsibility for the legal and statutory compliance, and in maintaining and enhancing a rigorous internal controls framework and integrity of the financial information. The Manager is also expected to act as a delegate of the Corporate Controller on a regular basis and interact with the CFO and other Company stakeholders. 

The candidate retained is expected to grow into the role, in order to ensure future succession with the existing Corporate Controller.

What will you do?

  • Act as a delegate of the Corporate Controller on various occasions with the CFO and Hub Controllers
  • Prepares Board of Directors presentation for strategic matters on annual financial statements, internal and external audit reports, financing, and debt structure, etc.
  • Oversee a team of finance and accounting professionals and indirect oversight of financial professionals in the operations worldwide, particularly regarding IFRS compliance activities
  • Participate in the month-end legal reporting from a consolidation perspective; coordinate with the regional Hubs, serve as a key reference, set timelines, standardize and optimize reporting across the company
  • Ensure integrity and quality of the financial information (Balance sheet / income statement) of the Group and standardize the legal reporting across the various subsidiaries of the group
  • Ensure timeliness of local and Global submissions in reporting systems
  • Design and implement a robust internal controls Framework across all entities.
  • Play active role in set-up of a small “Internal Audit” team, and develop a plan, to test, quarterly, the efficiencies of controls across the entities.
  • Act as the central point of expertise, for any complex / IFRS accounting matters
  • Prepare/Review and approval of all accounting position papers issued by the Company
  • Participate in the process of reviewing monthly regional Hubs’ results in absence of Corporate Controller.
  • Ensure Linxon’s accounting policies and procedures are applied correctly within the group
  • Assistant Controllership of the Holding company and branches
  • Responsible for tax compliance matters for the Holding Company
  • Support in new legal entities registrations and close-outs
  • Prepare the annual consolidated financial statements of the Group and its notes and manage the related audit
  • Participate to monthly/quarterly project reviews, requiring complex accounting positions, as needed
  • Ensure compliance around statutory reporting requirements and taxes
  • Ensure compliance around transfer pricing matters, including costs allocations from Holdco to operating entities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, where colleagues are encouraged and recognized for generating and implementing innovative ideas.
  • Supervise and coach the team; Develop team members’ expertise. Make direct reports accountable for achieving the goals and meeting performance objectives. Ensure career development and succession planning
  • Promote positive relationships and clear communications between stakeholders and the team

Experience, Education and other Required:

  • 7 To 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor of commerce with major in finance or accounting. CA / CPA designation required
  • Big 4 (Audit) experience is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Oracle required
  • Knowledge of Hyperion required
