Your missions

The Assessor conducts treatment assessments for clients to determine Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT) recommendations, as well as orientating them into the CCS Care Path. The purpose of a CCS assessment is to evaluate client's strengths as well as areas where support is needed to enable clinically appropriate recommendations including appropriateness of service or treatment. Assessment results are intended to guide in the development of the client care path and treatment objectives when treatment is recommended.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct BHT assessments for clients, orienting them to CCS while gathering clinical and medical information.
  • Conduct assessments which may include administering the Vineland.
  • Use working knowledge of assessing and addressing risk to escalate high risk clinical concerns to supervisor.
  • Determine appropriateness of BHT services and/or recommendation for start of BHT services.
  • Review relevant reports and documentation as needed to complete assessment.
  • Write all reports in a professional and objective manner.
  • Serve as a contact for clients and families and respond to all client inquiries; ensuring all client’s needs are met.
  • Complete documentation regarding all interactions with the client, provider, and interdisciplinary team, using appropriate systems and procedures in a timely manner, per agency policies.
  • Collaborate with providers regarding clinical concerns related to their client.
  • As appropriate, coordinate with CCS Clinical Case Managers to ensure appropriate BHT services.
  • Document client complaints and grievances, and submit them to the Quality department, per policy requirements.
  • Participate in special projects and assist with additional duties/tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must adhere to all federal, state, and local laws/legislations as applicable as well as HIPAA laws and
  • regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

  • California Licensed Mental Health Clinician. 
  • Working knowledge of assessing and addressing risk and dangerous behaviors.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, marriage family therapy or counseling is required.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Sensitivity to working with an ethically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.
  • A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgement, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. 
  • Familiarity with the field of ABA, BHT, and knowledge of other community resources and agencies that serve children preferred.
  • Familiarity with administrating Vineland.
  • Familiarity with the field of early intervention, ABA, and knowledge of other community resources
  • and agencies that serve those clients.
  • Able to conduct strengths based, client centered psychosocial assessments and refer clients for 
  • clinically appropriate services.
  • Consistent demonstration of good judgment and decision-making skills while maintaining the
  • highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Able to appropriately interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in computer/word processing software and excel.
  • Work in an exciting, fast paced high energy environment while effectively multitasking.
  • Personable; able to work comfortably with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in crisis management.
  • Managing day-to-day responsibilities with or without supervision.
  • Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be highly detail oriented.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent speaking and listening to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone.
  • Frequent sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the computer.
  • Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff and others in the workplace continuously.
  • Ability to utilize computer and cell phone (iPhone).
  • Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively within the workplace, read and write using the primary language within the workplace.

Conditions of Employment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must attend all required training.

Compensation:
$90,000 - $110,000 Annually
