Senior Procurement Analyst

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategy and supporting the Marketing sub-category under Global Procurement while partnering with the organization's various lines of businesses to support their initiatives and go-to-market strategy and provide market analytics through sourcing activities, high-level negotiations, and supplier vetting. As part of the Senior Procurement Team, you will support Procurements global modernization efforts to bring an international best in class Procurement Organization to the organization while being a change management champion internally and externally. 

 

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Working closely with stakeholders to manage discussions related to the Marketing Category and aligning category priorities with Procurement management and stakeholders. 

  • Interacts with stakeholders to develop, engage, and lead supplier relationships for extracting the greatest value in supplier quality, total cost-effectiveness, enhanced service levels, risk management, sustainability, and innovation. 

  • Manages the ongoing performance of our suppliers, including objective setting and supplier evaluations where warranted. 

  • Develops short-term and long-term category-specific strategies that align with the Company's goals for reducing costs and meeting financial expectations, while managing vendor relationships. Drives consolidation of spend and seek out synergies across Business Units where applicable, to develop and implement category/commodity strategies and to drive cost from individual spend sub-categories; consults with Sr. Management and other subject matter experts to develop alternative solutions; advises on options, risks, the total cost of ownership, and business impacts. 

  • Executes category sourcing strategies including development and execution of RFI’s and RFP’s, documents bid events through correspondence to suppliers; develops selection criteria and drives the selection and approval process of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams; conducts supplier negotiations and ongoing supplier management. Develops negotiation strategies, gain alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implementing appropriate supplier risk analysis. 

  • Manages contracts, contract negotiation, and contractual dispute resolutions. Pre-negotiates and incorporates terms, conditions, key performance indicators, and service level metrics into vendor contracts. 

  • Actively seeks ways to streamline business processes; researches and provides information on industry category trends and best practices. Provides procurement input to maximize procurement leverage, optimize project design and minimize project duration and cost. 

  • Ensures business process efficiency and process improvement in line with Procurement strategy to empower the business as strategic partners. 

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, administering contingent recruitment programs for billable and non-billable consulting. Develops strategies using our contingent labor platform to support core business objectives and demands 

  • Helping to drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from category management activities. 

  • Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

  • Occasional business travel may be required.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Strong negotiation experience. 

  • Experience with Oracle, Workday, Fieldglass, SAP P2P or similar ERP Software. 

  • Ability to perform as a team player with other Buyers as well as interacting with all levels of management and support personnel. 

  • Ability to maintain objectivity while performing multiple tasks while under pressure to meet customer requirements; self-motivated; takes initiative. 

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. 

  • Ability to analyze a problem and recommend solutions. 

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Excel. 

  • Ability to host high-level engagements internally and externally. 

 

 EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 

  • A college degree and/or experience in the field are required. 

  • Ten (10) plus years of procurement experience, with a strong background in Marketing 

  • Ten (10) plus years of vendor management and negotiation experience; 

  • Ten (10) plus years of experience using a major Enterprise Resource Planning (or ERP) process management software. 

  • Training/ certification: CPSM, ISM, CIPS, CPP certifications preferred.
