Senior Director, Project Finance Management


Location: United States – Remote - Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST) – Boston, MA based preferred


At KCR, we seek a distinguished Senior Director of Project Finance Management to lead the strategic development of financial components for new business opportunities. This role requires overseeing and enhancing the entire financial bidding process, from analyzing Requests for Information (RfIs) and developing proposals to participating in Bid Defense Meetings and ensuring a smooth transition upon project award.

 

Your strong abilities in forecasting will drive financial innovation through meticulous analysis and optimization of bid strategies, contributing to successful project acquisitions. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with company goals, now and in the future, ensuring excellence in project execution. Leveraging clinical intelligence data and study execution strategies to develop competitive and accurate budgets will be crucial, as we continue our path of growth.

 

This role is pivotal in shaping the future of project finance management within our dynamic and growing organization. The expertise and leadership brought by the Senior/Director will be instrumental in driving financial success and operational excellence.

 

Responsibilities Overview

  • Budget Preparation: Oversee budget creation based on RfP assumptions using approved tools and processes, ensuring compliance with company standards and target margins.
  • Client Communication: Manage client interactions throughout the bidding process, leading budget negotiations as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work with business partners and vendors on joint proposals, maintaining relationships, updating pipelines, and negotiating financial terms.
  • Contract Support: Collaborate with the Legal Department to execute contracts or letters of intent until project handover.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Coordinate with departments like Consulting Solutions and Trial Execution Solutions to develop suitable budgets and proposals.
  • Market Monitoring: Monitor clinical trial and CRO market trends, identifying key competitors to create competitive proposals.
  • Additional Tasks: Handle other tasks as needed to support the company’s financial and strategic objectives.

 

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the Project Finance team, fostering a collaborative environment and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and guide team members, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Feedback and Compliance: Provide feedback across teams, ensure adherence to company policies, and keep the team's knowledge up to date.
  • Confidence in engaging with all staff levels, internally and externally, globally.
  • Clear and effective communication of directives, conclusions, and viewpoints.

 

Educational Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, International Business, or a related field. Advanced degree, M.B.A. preferred

 

Previous Experience

Main Requirements:

  • 10+ years of clinical professional experience within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) additional internal biotech setting experience preferred.
  • Global clinical study experience
  • Extensive biotechnology clientele interactions
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Ability to build solid external relationships and motivate a regional or global team
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Native language level in English, both written and verbal
  • Available for travel up to 65% of the time, including international travel
