Vice President, Global Distribution (Remote)

The Vice President, Global Distribution will own the overall management of our NDC Program and associated new distribution initiatives to include but not limited to developing and executing BCD Travel NDC Channel Strategy, developing business plans, and working with cross functional teams (including Commercial, GSR, Product Planning, Global Communications, and Operations) to align all strategies. You will manage the distribution supplier reviews while establishing positive relationships with key decision makers globally, regionally, and locally. You will also manage an assigned portfolio of supplier new distribution relationships including contract commercial negotiation, analysis, budgetary input, and profitability analysis.

You will be responsible to BCD and externally to the supplier for the success of the NDC Program across multiple BCD Travel geographical regions.

As a Vice President, Global Distribution, you will

  • Analyze and assess existing travel distribution market developments and future supplier and market initiatives
  • Negotiate new distribution agreements and model expected results to ensure optimal revenues and earnings rates
  • Evaluate and make clear recommendations on existing and future required supplier distribution agreements and strategies
  • Act as the key point of contact in BCD to lead cross functional teams to deliver Technical, Commercial, and Operational NDC Strategy(s)
  • Develop and implement strategy and tactics to drive NDC Program initiates and associated revenues
  • Oversee the NDC program with BCD Departments including Enterprise Development, Product Planning, GSR, Commercial, and legal
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with supplier partners and all internal departments in deploying supplier maximization strategies
  • Manage personnel including hiring, coaching, training, motivating and terminating

About You

  • Prior travel industry experience in distribution or related roles
  • Experience implementing and managing NDC and other distribution strategies
  • Thorough knowledge of business travel management and the travel industry
  • Knowledge of Global Distribution Systems and Online Booking Tool strategy
  • Strong knowledge of changing distribution environment – NDC, GDS, Direct Connect, OBTs and aggregators
  • Proven ability to understand, negotiate, and manage complex supplier contracts
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written & verbal) in English

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Vice President, Global Distribution is between $169,000 and $180,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
