Your missions

At Gearset, we build a cutting-edge DevOps solution for the millions of developers building applications on Salesforce, the world's biggest enterprise PaaS. It’s an exciting time to join Gearset! In the last few years we’ve rocketed from a 7 person start-up to over 250 people, and we’re only just getting started.

What’s the opportunity?
  • We're looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Data Team within our Engineering organization and be part of building out the systems that power Gearset as we scale the company.
  • From its inception, Gearset has had a data-driven approach to building and selling software. Our SaaS platform provides increasing amounts of telemetry as more users engage with our product, our database of customers continues to grow, and our cloud-native back-end systems also provide valuable data that helps teams across the company make better decisions.
  • Our Data Team aims to enable data practitioners across the company to gain knowledge from our data, allowing them to make impactful changes to our products and our business processes.
  • You’ll help us on our journey of maturity from building and sharing models, reports and dashboards to establishing a data community across the organisation where teams confidently use data in their day-to-day workflows.

  • As Part of Gearset’s Data Team, you will:
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the business to understand their objectives and help them make the best use of our data through reports, dashboards and integrations with other tools
  • Build clean, intuitive and reusable data models in our data warehouse to underpin the insights you deliver
  • Understand and document concepts from across the org and use these to help standardise terminology and reduce data silos
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our product works to facilitate cohesive and effective collaboration with other departments
  • Work with other members of the data team and teams across the business to collect and feed data into our platform
  • Use software engineering best practices to govern our data platform, including version control, automated testing and CI/CD
  • Contribute to the design of our data platform and be empowered to make key decisions around these systems

  • You'll be a good fit if you:
  • Have 5+ years of experience in an analytical role working with modern data platforms
  • Have strong SQL and data modelling skills, and have experience using dbt to build models
  • Have experience creating dashboards to enable diagnostic analysis and value-driving insights
  • Have experience working with analytics in a B2B SaaS company, particularly in commercial domains like Sales, Marketing and Customer Success
  • Have experience working with cloud-based data warehouse platforms, such as Redshift, Snowflake or BigQuery

  • Nice to haves:
  • Experience with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce
  • Have experience working with DevOps practices and tools, including version control, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing and CI/CD
  • Experience in product ownership roles, understanding the needs of users and prioritising technical work that will efficiently address those needs

  • Salary and benefits (the stuff you’d expect!)
  • Salary is £70k - £90k (depending on experience)
  • This is a full time opportunity, working Monday to Friday remote in the UK
  • Generous personal development budget for courses, conferences, or whatever is useful to your professional development in the role of up to £1500 per year
  • Top end hardware provided
  • Free lunch in the office
  • BUPA health care
  • Life Insurance & critical illness cover
  • Discounted gym membership, as well as a range of health and wellness benefits
