Lead Engineer

The primary goal of incident management is to minimize the impact on business operations and restore normal service as quickly as possibleThis team is as the helm of these effortsThis includes processes, policies, communication, integration, automation and collaborationThis team is responsible for establishing effective protocols, thoughtfully distributing tasks, and guiding teams through the resolution process, and then taking it a step further – establishing and improving excellence in the operations of our deliverables to ensure we are more effective and efficient in the futureWe are excellent communicators and collaborators with all facets of the College Board in both technology and business, celebrating individual contributions but ensuring our success as a TEAM.  

 

The Opportunity:   

As a Lead Engineer, Enterprise Incident Management you will pay an integral part in integrating and automating incident management tooling, responding and triaging incidents, monitoring alerts and moving incidents thoughtfully to resolution while ensuring proper communication.   Your knowledge of distributed cloud infrastructure, excellent communication skills, and ability to troubleshoot will enable you to ask the right questions to progress enterprise incidents to resolutionYour tactful, analytical approach will allow for you to conduct operational excellence reviews post incident and follow-up on deliverables to allow for continuous improvement.  

 

About you, you have:   

  • A deep understanding of how to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and applications 

  • Experience with incident response in cloud environments, preferably AWS.   

  • Experience with DevOps concepts and software engineer collaboration 

  • 7+ years of work experience in operations, incident response, and/or devops.   

  • experience working alongside and leading high-performance teams who can make decisions in fast-paced environments.   

  • Experience leading in a cross-functional team environment 

  • Exceptional problem-solving  

  • Experience with API integrations and automations

The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $158,000 to $173,000. College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary. 

 

Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles. College Board strives to provide our best offer up front based on this criteria.
