Job Description

Role: Senior System Administrator

Experience Range: 12+ Years

Location: Bangalore 

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Installation, Upgradation, Configuration, Maintenance, Patch/Package management and Troubleshooting of the Operating systems and services.

· Configuration Mgmt. Access control, Security, Server health monitoring, Database mgmt.

· Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments

· Supporting high availability, fail-over, fallback using Veritas Cluster Server. Freezing, switching service groups

· Good understanding of Windows Infrastructure technologies (e.g. AD, ADFS, GPO) within the enterprise and experience in supporting Product development on Windows Platform is a plus

· Hardware maintenance and coordination with vendors

· Monitoring system performance of Virtual memory, swap space, Disk & CPU utilization.

· Managing file system like monitoring sizes, resolving inconsistencies CIFS, NFS, DFS

· Managing Users and Groups and applying security permission to users and directories

· Scheduling and conducting BCP tests to ensure seamless production at times of disaster.

· Monitoring system logs and system performance.

· A good knowledge on virtualization technology like VMWare ESX/ESXi, template creation and deployment.

· Strong knowledge of active directory concepts and configuration, i.e. need to understand membership in security groups, inherited groups, OU structure, etc.

· Knowledge of Windows Registry, including knowledge of modifying system registry to support installed applications and document configuration changes.

· Strong experience using Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IIS 5.0/6.0, FTP, Group Policy, windows clustering

· Experience in Testing and implementing security patches released by Microsoft.

· Sound Knowledge of DHCP setup and troubleshooting, Active Directory/Domain Controller Configuration.

· Set up and manage employee accounts, permissions, email, antivirus, VPN access, and other services

· Perform system backup, recovery, and upgrade procedures

· Ensure all servers, systems, and infrastructure comply with security policies and best practices

· Network management (LAN, WAN, DHCP, TCI/IP, SMTP, SNMP)

· Manage user accounts and permission.

· Automating repetitive system administration tasks.

· Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly

· Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed

· Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed

· Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups

· Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)

· Expertise in analyzing and repairing large-scale distributed systems; creating volumes and assigning them to servers; and remote replication

· Document process and preparation of run books.
