Description

STRUCTR Advisors is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) within the respective office/business unit. This position will ensure the successful development, implementation, education, and support for all VDC projects and activities. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Management, IT and VDC Staff to develop, implement, and enforce VDC standards, requirements, and best practices 
  • Support the Go/No-Go process for utilizing VDC on assigned projects
  • Draft the VDC budget and manage the schedule 
  • Establish project-specific VDC requirements, including the Modeling/Shop Drawing Requirements, LOD Matrix, and Coordination Schedule  
  • Organize and lead the VDC processes, including coordination meetings, clash detection procedures, constructability reviews, RFI development & resolution, and model maintenance 
  • Create summary reports to keep track of the key aspects of VDC on assigned projects, including goals, successes, challenges, and lessons learned 
  • Maintain and distribute new/revised models from project team members; develop models as necessary to support the VDC process
  • Generate 4D simulations and model-based quantity take-offs as necessary 
  • Provide training and support to employees on effective use of the VDC tools and technologies 
  • Attend Design meetings, Subcontractor meetings, OAC meetings, team and company meetings, etc. as appropriate 
  • Participate in continuing education and R&D initiatives to support the continued evolution of VDC and other construction technologies within the company
  • Manage a small team, providing oversight, direction, and mentoring in accordance to the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Foster and cultivate a team culture that aligns with the organization’s mission and values
  • Participate in the Hourigan Construction Corp.’s Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience specifically related to VDC required
  • Demonstrate experience in required software, including Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam. 
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of project/field management, means and methods, document administration and a thorough understanding of industry practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills
