About the Role:

 

The Merchandising Senior Manager for Decorative Finishes is a key leadership role who enjoys data driven discussions, understands our transactional consumers, has deep product knowledge, and knows where the marketplace opportunities reside.  This role will serve as a critical team member who drives the strategies and tactics needed to win in the home goods industry.

 

In addition to curating online assortment strategies based on vendors in the building materials industry, this role is in charge of developing an e-commerce strategy that delivers P&L results. This includes translating consumer insights into meaningful product plans, specifying design and price differentiation, and analyzing business results to advise future strategies.  This leadership role is held accountable for the overall success of the business based on rapid revenue generation, decisions that drive EBITDA growth, and improved customer experience.

 

 

  • Location:  100% Remote.   (Required to work from any location within the USA.)
  • Reports to:  General Manager – Decorative Finishes @ Renovation Brands.
  • Supervisory:  Will directly manage an associate level support position.
  • Base Salary Range:   $100,000-$115,000 (experience & interview performance will determine actual number within the range).
  • Annual Discretionary Bonus:  eligible for 10% of base salary.

 

The Decorative Finishes divisions of Renovation Brands is comprised of American Tin Ceilings, Reggio Registers, and Baseboarders.   These brands are leading, fast-growing omni-channel providers in their respective building materials categories.  

 

The Merchandising Senior Manager is a highly visible and critical role that is part of the business leadership team who develops innovative ideas that improve the customer experience through product assortment, great content, compelling product insights, and best-in class design tools that aid in the converting customers.

 

As a conceptual, analytic, and strategic thinker, you will be responsible for partnering with cross functional teams to implement and analyze product strategy, pricing, promotions, new product development, vendor strategy, inventory management, and website experience (CX/UX).

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Partner with the General Manager in owning the merchandising of our eCommerce environment including DTC sites and channel partner sites.
  • Adjust site merchandising, pricing, promotional strategy based on customer feedback, competitor actions, in-stock shifts/product availability and other dynamic considerations.
  • Ensure product data, content, pricing, and merchandising is tailored to the overall Brand strategy focused on delivering increased sales, trade pros, and innovative product launches.   
  • Work side-by-side with partners in Marketing, Sales, Planning, Sourcing, and Supply Chain to manage performance marketing, key sales insights, pricing, vendor Develop product strategies that drive rapid profitable growth by understanding the competitive landscape and gaps in the marketplace.
  • Utilize reporting tools to analyze effectiveness of merchandising activities, with a focus on measurement and accountability.
  • Partner with internal marketing and digital team to lead growth and elevated customer experience across AmericanTinCeilings.com, ReggioRegister.com and Baseboarders.Com
  • Leader for new product development opportunities that includes business case creation, project tracking, target setting, weekly report outs, and cross functional partnering in order to successfully bring new products to the market quickly and efficiently.

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in product-related roles required.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing teams preferred.
  • Experience building brands and developing branded products in a eCommerce retail environment.
  • Understanding of eCommerce best practices required, direct experience in eCommerce merchandising preferred.
  • A results-driven background in merchandising, e-commerce, and marketing consumer products.
  • Proficiency in Excel as well as Keynote or PowerPoint. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and presentations with a high degree of integrity.
  • Clear understanding of the home renovation customer, particularly the hearth and patio consumer and specifier
  • Ability to turn data into actionable consumer insights.
  • Project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects across teams and hold teammates accountable.
  • The ideal candidate should also possess proven product management experience and expertise in understanding, interpreting, and implementing consumer insights and market intelligence to enhance business growth and market share.
  • Self-driven and curious – continually looking for opportunities to improve.
