Description:

The Actuarial Model Infrastructure team within Actuarial Services seeks a competent Finance Tech Administrator to assist with supporting actuarial users and processes within our vendor’s (FIS Global) cloud-based system environment (PMCS - Prophet Managed Cloud Service). This role will administer, support, and engage all NYL business units to provide a stable environment and assist with process improvement/automation efforts. Appropriate Training will be provided.

 

Responsibilities:

The System Administrator will support the management of actuarial uses, roles, software, and infrastructure used to run our financial models in support of financial reporting and company management. The administrator will provide Level-2 support to the actuarial community and work with Level-2-4 IT support for software, applications, and hardware used for Financial Modeling. The administrator will be a key individual assisting with the testing and implementation of Production ready financial models across the Actuarial units within the Insurance, Investment, Corporate and Strategic Divisions of the company. 

  • Troubleshoot, Monitor and resolve issues within PMCS environment
  • End user support / troubleshooting / tickets
  • Access permissions - maintain Access Control List (ACL).
  • Model Workspace Deployments across Prophet Enterprise application domains
  • Proactively monitor storage use and execute archive/data retention processes
  • Liaise with NYL Enterprise technology and Software vendor (FIS)
  • Document systems, processes, and assets
  • Some minor development (10%) with custom tools/scripts written in PowerShell, C#, VB.net, SQL Server (query and stored procedures)
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS-Amazon Web Services)
  • Support users and administrating PMCS applications (PE-Prophet Enterprise, AM-Assumptions Manager, PCC-Prophet Control Center : a Vendor Automation Platform, FIS Scheduler) experience

 

Qualifications:

Qualify applicants should have the following:

  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple efforts
  • Attention to details
  • Able to document detail processes and software functionalities
  • Understand and utilize various flow charts and diagrams, such as UML, BPMN
  • Ability to assist in configurations needed for testing and lifecycle management.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Knowledge of solutions using large scale infrastructure and permissions.
  • Some coding knowledge – Visual Studio working with APIs and cross platform solutions

 

 

Preferred skills/experience:

  • An understanding of actuarial modeling platform and any cloud based system.
  • FIS - Prophet ecosystem, including Prophet Professional, Enterprise and APIs 2021Q2+.
  • 0-2 years’ experience working in administration of FIS software suite or any other actuarial software suites. 
  • Customer service focus / Troubleshooting skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Takes initiative and able to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (technology related)

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $62,400-$90,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
