Are you the Project Manager Asset Upgrade who will take the projects of IHC Services BV to the next level?

Job description

The role of Technical Services within IHC Services BV / Asset Upgrade is to manage and execute Asset Upgrade projects, dry dockings, mobilizations and demobilizations, component repairs.
As Project Manager, you can cover scopes from arranging a small repair locally in NL, through to taking on a full end-to-end management of an upgrade of any type of maritime equipment around the world. You will be involved from Sales and Proposal phase, developing the strategy for the project.

As Project Manager, you are responsible for developing project plans, the contract management and the execution of the project within OSBIT (on specifications, budget, in time). You are the single point of contact for the stakeholders for the duration of the project, for commercial and non-commercial project related issues, in order to realize the project within given requirements. As a Project Manager you are in charge of the project team and responsible for all steps of execution of the projects (engineering, work preparation, purchase & logistics, contracts, production/conversion, managing risks, etc.).


As Project Manager, you have the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • develop project plans and costings
  • manage project activities, execution, project risks and resources in line with OSBIT and take corrective actions when necessary
  • manage changes and demarcations in the scope of the project
  • negotiate the financial, timeliness and qualitative impact on the project with the client or other relevant stakeholders both internally as well externally
  • ensure registration of relevant project information
  • evaluate and close a project, identify and analyze lessons learned and hand over the project to client
  • build and utilize a network of in- and external stakeholders  and represent the project within the organization
  • manage the assigned project members and work in close cooperation with the project team on site
  • develop process/procedure and integrate into existing running projects and future proposals, professionalizing and standardizing IHC approach and delivery in its operational and technical maintenance services
  • mentor and develop current employees in line with the above strategy and approaches
  • support and actively take part in the development of business opportunities from initial exploratory discussions with clients, bid development (supporting commercial department) and then deliver into operation including the leadership of this
  • take part in developing Technical Services as an external offering to our clients including alignment of competency and frameworks needed to deliver this
  • be able to work end to end (ie from a cooperate strategic level to small repairs scopes (ie bearing block repairs, small repair projects etc)
  • comply with the Royal IHC and client safety rules and procedures, including addressing anomalies to others.

Profile  

As Project Manager, you are pragmatic, structured and accurate in your work, identifying problems and taking immediate action to solve them. Effectively organizing and planning of activities is in your nature, and you independently take actions and stimulate others to drive project activities. You stimulate, inspire and engage others to cooperate and achieve a project’s objectives. You are aware of the project lead times and its effect on costs and people who work onsite. To be eligible for the position of Project Manager, you must also have the following:

  • take ownership of projects and allocated activities end-to-end
  • business acumen
  • have experience in maintenance assets, dry-docking and ship conversion, operational management;
  • experience in the maritime industry
  • a pragmatic, structured and accurate way of working;
  • result oriented approach, high focus on getting things done and realizing projects within time and budget;
  • the ability to do stakeholder management in order to handle cultural differences within the team, with the client and/or executing yard;
  • the ability to take initiative independently on one hand, but with good team working skills on the other hand;
  • an optimistic, energetic and engage personality;
  • the ability to travel abroad and work worldwide while being NL based;
  • excellent project management skills including proper reporting capabilities;
  • an excellent command of English, with moderate Dutch skills preferable;
  • only candidates with EU work visa will be preferable;
