About Role:

We seek an experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering with a strong background in product startups, mobile application development, and expertise in infrastructure/DevOps and QA. This individual will manage a remote engineering team and work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the speed of delivery while balancing quality, scope, and speed. This position reports to the CTO (who is also the CEO, based out of California).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead and manage a remote engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of mobile applications, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
• Manage infrastructure, DevOps, and QA processes to support efficient and reliable product development.
• Make strategic decisions to balance quality, scope, and speed of delivery.
• Provide accurate project planning and estimates to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Mentor and develop engineering team members, promoting professional growth and continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our products remain competitive.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role within a product startup environment, co-founder experience a plus
• Strong background in managing mobile application development.
• Expertise in infrastructure, DevOps, and QA. Networking/VPN experience is a huge advantage.
• Experience leading and managing distributed teams.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to provide accurate estimates and deliver projects on time.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on balancing quality, scope, and speed.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
