Job description

We are looking for a Quickwit SME to enhance our search capabilities and manage our log analytics infrastructure. As a leader in [your industry], we are dedicated to utilizing innovative technologies to drive our data-driven decision-making processes.

Job Summary: As a Quickwit SME, you will be responsible for the deployment, optimization, and management of Quickwit search engine solutions. You will leverage your expertise to ensure efficient data indexing, search performance, and overall system reliability. Your role will involve working closely with data engineers, developers, and IT teams to implement and support Quickwit within our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deployment & Configuration: Lead the setup, configuration, and deployment of Quickwit clusters, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements.
  • Optimization: Optimize Quickwit performance, including query execution, indexing, and resource management, to handle large-scale data efficiently.
  • Integration: Integrate Quickwit with other data sources and systems, including logging frameworks, data lakes, and analytics platforms.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Quickwit, such as performance bottlenecks, indexing problems, and data inconsistencies.
  • Best Practices: Develop and enforce best practices for Quickwit usage, including data schema design, search optimization techniques, and system maintenance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Quickwit configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and support to internal teams on Quickwit features, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Upgrades & Maintenance: Manage Quickwit upgrades and ongoing maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to search services and data analytics workflows.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience with Quickwit in a production environment, including deployment, configuration, and performance optimization.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Quickwit’s architecture, indexing, and search capabilities. Experience with related technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Apache Lucene) is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to address complex issues effectively.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and data analytics teams.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications (Optional): Relevant certifications in search technologies or data management are advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based deployments and scaling solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of log management and analytics tools.
