About our group:

 

Seagate’s Government Relations (GR) group promotes and advances Seagate’s corporate goals and strategic objectives by building relationships and partnerships with government stakeholders, advising on significant governmental risks and opportunities, and serving as a primary liaison with key government agencies and relevant industry groups

About the role - you will:

 

  • Lead Seagate’s GR function in Europe and be responsible for developing and executing Seagate’s overall GR strategy in the region
  • Build strong relationships with government officials, relevant industry groups, and other stakeholders within the government ecosystem
  • Identify key opportunities and risks posed by government policies or initiatives, and coordinate closely with internal business partners to build government partnerships and mitigate relevant business challenges
  • Inform Seagate leadership and business partners on legislative, regulatory, and other governmental developments that may present risks or opportunities to Seagate’s business and operations
  • Manage external consultants and other relevant resources
  • Report to the Vice President of Global Government Relations
     

About you:

 

  • Solid understanding of European government policies, processes, and stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and capable of developing strategy and driving progress on a variety of key initiatives 
  • Proficiency at developing and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels within the company, as well as with external GR stakeholders
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing relationships with team-mates and senior executives at multiple sites in US and around the globe.
  • Able to partner with other members of the GR team to provide support and leadership on priority projects and coverage in other geographical regions

Your experience includes:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant government/policy experience – either in government, trade association, consulting firm, NGO, and/or other relevant organization.
