SUMMARY
The Clinical Educator at Atos Medical is pivotal in executing training priorities by providing comprehensive education to patients, caregivers, healthcare practitioners, and internal staff on the features, benefits, clinical indications, and applications of Atos products. Specializing in tracheostomy and laryngectomy, the Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, scheduling, and conducting training sessions in both one-on-one and group settings, utilizing virtual and in-person formats. As a clinical ambassador, this role involves connecting with stakeholders and healthcare providers to translate key learnings into innovative care products and pathways for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients across North America. Under the direction of the Clinical Education Manager, the Clinical Educator collaborates with internal cross-functional workgroups on projects and initiatives to develop and deliver cutting-edge, quality clinical programming and deliverables.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Training Development and Delivery: Develop, schedule, and conduct training sessions for patients, caregivers, healthcare practitioners, and internal staff, focusing on the features, benefits, clinical indications, and applications of Atos products
- One-on-One and Group Training: Execute training in both one-on-one and group settings, utilizing virtual and in-person formats
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a clinical ambassador, connecting with stakeholders and healthcare providers to translate key learnings into clinical adoption of Atos Products and Services
- Program Collaboration: Collaborate with internal cross-functional workgroups to contribute to projects and initiatives that develop cutting-edge, quality clinical programming and deliverables
- Educational Content Creation: Assist in the creation of educational materials and resources to support training efforts and enhance the learning experience
- Feedback and Reporting: Collect and report feedback from training sessions to improve future educational initiatives and support continuous improvement
- Sales Collaboration: Partner with assigned Atos Medical Territory Sales Managers to enhance customer understanding and clinical application of products. Collaborate with TSM to plan for appropriate clinical education offerings to meet strategic objectives, build brand awareness and develop customer loyalty
- Clinical Support: Provide scheduled and on-demand clinical support to internal and external stakeholders on troubleshooting and clinical best practices for patients pre- and post-tracheostomy and laryngectomy
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers that builds trust, promotes brand awareness and leads to deeper engagements with Atos Medical
- Conference Engagement: Attend conferences under the direction of the CE manager to identify key topics, speakers and trends while developing relationships and promoting brand awareness
- Research & Literature Awareness: Responsible for maintaining knowledge on current literature as it pertains to the patient populations served by Atos Medical. Engage with Atos Medical peers in critical examination of how those topics may be integrated into the Clinical Education offerings
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current products and services in the industry, specifically competitor products. Learn trends and how to position our products and services to promote adoption and implementation
- Reporting Activities: Report all activities, communications, and customer data as assigned by the Atos CE Manager
- Professional Development: Participate in manager-directed training modules and professional development activities
- Regulatory, Legal and Compliance Requirements: must adhere to any company regulations provided via training, company handbook or other mediums
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position requires working closely with hospital personnel and patients and, as such, the individual could be at a higher risk for infections
- Tuberculosis screening upon employment and every 12 months is required based on exposure
- Hepatitis B vaccine is required
- Company personnel are NEVER authorized to therapeutically touch a patient
- The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds
- Overnight travel required for the position is approximately 25-50% of the time
QUALIFICATIONS
- M.A., M. Ed., or M.S. in Speech Pathology required
- Minimum of 4-5 years direct patient care experience; caring for patients with laryngectomy in the outpatient/acute setting
- Current and extensive knowledge of laryngeal communication and pulmonary care
- Group presentation experience required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Independently motivated individual with good organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to collaborate with all members of the clinical and sales team.
- Demonstrates an interest in learning more about innovate medical therapies and technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Group presentation experience required.
