Pricing and Data Science Specialist (m/f/d) - Full Time - BruchsalGermany

 

You are looking for a career opportunity where you can contribute both with your strong analytical expertise and with your interest for developing and growing important business processes? You would like to continuously develop and optimize existing processes but also take advantage of personal development opportunities, e.g., by taking over exciting global projects? 

Then our position as Pricing and Data Science Specialist might just be the ideal fit for you. For a minimum of 1 .5 years you will be part of the global Business Excellence Team within the Sulzer Services Division and work for the global parts pricing team: In this wide-spread role you are supporting the automation and improvement of the data-driven global price management. 

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities:  

Pricing:

  • Optimization of local and global pricing strategies for the global Sulzer after-markets

  • Preparation of profitability studies and deduction of financial effects of price adjustments

  • Development, implementation, and improvement of global pricing tools for internal customers

  • Supporting the automation of price setting and price calculations

  • Quantitative data analyses for a harmonized price structure

Data Science:

  • In addition to pricing, apply your data science capabilities in strategic global projects in contexts of market, sales and cost analytics

  • Identify key drivers of business performance and develop performance measures

  • Deploy state-of-the-art methods and tools utilizing advanced analytics, machine-learning or generative artificial intelligence 

  • Take responsibility for internal trainings and workshops

 

To succeed in this role, you will need: 

The biggest success factor for this position are outstanding analytical, quantitative and problem-solving capabilities. However, in order to successfully implement new processes and methods, you must also draw from your talent to inspire and engage local business teams to support your ideas. A team-oriented, open minded personality is essential, as well as your joy at meeting and working with people from all over the globe. Apart from this, the following skills are a good foundation for success in this position:
 

  • Master’s degree in business informatics, statistics, mathematics, data science, industrial engineering, or business administration with a strong analytics background; PhD is a plus
  • Strong experience in Python programming and very good working knowledge for data-processing and analytics python libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn and others 
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the field of machine learning
  • Ideally some experience with pricing in a B2B environment
  • Experience with QlikSense is advantageous
  • High capability in understanding business needs, translating them into relevant analysis and drive decision making 
  • Fluency in English
  • Willingness to occasionally travel internationally
