Legal Counsel (Commercial Litigation)

Our Client is one of the leading Web 3.0 companies. They are seeking for a Legal Counsel with strong commercial litigation experience to be based in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 8 years' legal & compliance experience (either in-house/ law firm), with strong expertise in corporate law and litigation management. It is preferable for the candidate to have a background in fintech or financial services.

In This Role, You Will

• Act as the sole in-house lawyer for the company, providing legal advice to executives and the management team.
• Handle a range of litigation cases, including commercial disputes, insolvency disputes and regulatory compliance matters for the company.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal contracts and agreements.
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure full regulatory compliance across all business activities.
• Identify potential legal risks to the organisation and devise proactive strategies to mitigate them.
• Investigate and respond to complaints regarding alleged violations of rules, policies, and procedures, and recommend suitable solutions.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor the in-house legal team across SG, CN, US.
• Stay updated with changes in laws that impact the company and provide timely updates and strategic advice on the potential impact of such changes.

You Might Thrive In This Role If You Have

• Qualified lawyer (Hong Kong) with a minimum of 8 years of legal PQE experience
• Good understanding of Hong Kong and US regulations.
• Solid commercial litigation experience required; experience in handling litigation matters, preferably within the financial services, investment banking, securities brokerage or asset management sectors.
• Experience and knowledge of the crypto-regulatory environment and advising on product launches is highly valued but not a must.
• Ability to work independently and make tough decisions.
• Excellent skills in legal drafting and interpretation.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
