THE ROLE

AG1 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist specializing in advanced marketing measurement to join our team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytics and modeling techniques to help us understand the impact of our marketing campaigns and optimize our marketing strategies. You will also be versed in retention and LTV modeling, providing recommendations to drive performance in these areas. This role will work closely with our Member Experience and Marketing teams to gather and analyze data, build predictive models, and deliver actionable insights.

Reporting to the VP Data Science and Analytics, the ideal candidate is skilled in interpreting and working with highly complex data and demonstrates strong critical thinking, problem solving skills, and business partnership capabilities.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Collaborate with data engineering team to build an internal attribution model.
  • Drive LTV and retention modeling that will influence business recommendations aimed to bolster customer retention.   
  • Roam our data to build insights that will inform key stakeholders on existing investments as well as potential investments for growth.
  • Solve ad hoc data problems that arise providing strategic solutions to enhance performance.
  • Support the Member Experience team in identifying opportunities to optimize LTV metrics and retention performance. 
  • Drive onboarding and management of a test and experiment platform.
  • Provide forecasting on financial impact of retention efforts. 
  • Assess LTV levers and identify metrics that impact LTV (i.e. M1 retention, M2 retention, etc).
  • Provide reporting on the various investments made to drive LTV and retention each week to understand the broader impact to main funnel metrics (i.e. CPM, CTR, CPS, CVR, CAC).
  • Incorporate demographic data to support insights and optimizations that will enable greater membership retention.  
  • Gather and analyze data from various sources, including CRM, web analytics, and media platforms, to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Build predictive models to forecast customer behavior and inform Member Experience and Marketing strategies.
  • Conduct attribution analysis to determine the impact of each customer touchpoint on customer behavior.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in marketing measurement best practices, and share insights / recommendations to ensure our strategies are always relevant and effective.
  • Support other related work as directed by the heads of the department.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 8+ years of experience in data science, marketing measurement, or a related field.
  • Bachelor degree in physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science is preferred; or major in science or engineering or engaged in data statistics, analysis, modeling related working areas after graduation.
  • However, a Bachelor or other tertiary qualification is not required - we welcome other backgrounds.
  • Expert-level proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, and/or SAS.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of marketing landscape and industry trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple work streams at once.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and changing situations to deliver on the right results.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $182,000.00 - $210,073.50 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
