What is saas.group?

Think of us as the driving force behind your favorite software success stories. saas.group, established in 2017, is on a mission to turbocharge promising B2B SaaS ventures, unlocking their full potential. As a Software-as-a-Service portfolio powerhouse, we specialize in acquiring small software treasures and polishing them into industry stars. With a dynamic, fully remote team of nearly 300 colleagues spanning 44 countries we are truly global and we are rewriting the playbook on SaaS innovation and collaboration. We grow 17 exciting brands under our umbrella. Feel free to explore our Candidate's Hub to get an insider's view, dive into our culture, gain valuable insights into our teams and how we work.

Profile Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Lead to manage and optimize our IT tools and infrastructure. This role involves owning and budgeting for tools like 1Password, Asana, Slack Enterprise Grid, MDM solutions, and our workplace infrastructure (laptops, etc.). The ideal candidate will implement basic security measures, communicate effectively with our portfolio companies for tool adoption, and support our teams in their day-to-day IT needs. You will be very hands-on ("fly high and dive deep") and build a team around yourself long-term. The person will also have a significant impact on standardizing processes and implementing best practices across companies through our playbook, "The Paved Road," and be part of the "Paved Road Council."

Your responsibilities

Automation & Workflow Management:

  • Use Python (or other languages to automate actions), GitHub Actions, Docker, and other tools to manage and automate workflows for onboarding, offboarding and workplace efficiency.
  • Drive the automation of the workplace stack to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Tool Ownership & Budgeting:

  • Manage and own technical and budget aspects of tools like 1Password, Asana, Slack Enterprise Grid, MDM, and workplace infrastructure.
  • Ensure cost-effective and efficient use of IT resources.

Standardization:

  • Develop and implement standard IT practices and processes across all portfolio brands through "The Paved Road" playbook.
  • Actively contribute to the "Paved Road Council" to ensure consistent and effective IT standards.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with saas.group portfolio brands to ensure adoption and ownership of IT tools.
  • Support teams and individuals in their day-to-day IT needs, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Track progress on all initiatives in a centralized board and create transparency on strategy and future direction in the group

Team Building:

  • Build and lead a small, highly skilled IT team over time.
  • Mentor and develop team members to support long-term company goals.

Security Measures:

  • Implement and maintain basic security protocols to protect company data and infrastructure.
  • Regularly review and update security policies and procedures.
  • Drive the IT side of SOC2 and ISO certifications together with the brands that need it
What You bring to the table
  • Proven experience in IT management, with a strong technical background.
  • Proficiency in Python, GitHub Actions, Docker, and workflow automation tools.
  • Experience with tools like 1Password, Asana, Slack Enterprise Grid, and MDM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of basic security measures and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage budgets and optimize IT resources.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to both "fly high and dive deep."
What’s in it for You
  • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of independence to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
  • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning  and expertise with each other internally.
  • Unlimited paid time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.

We don’t just simply offer you to “take a job with us” but rather to “join us on this journey” to build the world's largest platform of independent SaaS companies.

Sounds like something you’re up for? Feel free to apply even if you don’t check all these boxes. We believe in the power of diversity and fresh perspectives to spice up our team. Your application might just be the missing ingredient!
