Azure Data Engineer

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Data team. Our responsibility is to build a scalable data platform that supports NN data-driven decision making. The core of the platform is built on top of Azure cloud. We are expecting you to dive deep into problems, identify root causes, and find innovative solutions. To succeed, you will have access to the latest tools and technologies. Of course, you can use company ‘s ChatGPT and GitHub copilot instances as we are AI fans.  

As a team, we work in hybrid set up - meeting two days a week in the office to build our team spirit and share knowledge. We are open to new ideas, appreciate open communication and team feedback.  

Your Main Tasks:  

We want our engineers to have full experience with the platform we built. So, as you progress in the team, you will be tasked with both data and cloud-oriented topics:

• Analyzing business requirements, design and implement E2E data solutions, while ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Develop data pipelines, ETL processes for various data sources using Azure tools: Databricks, Data Factory, Functions, Logic Apps, Stream analytics, Power Bi.
• Enhance our devops stack (GIT, SonarQube, Azure Devops, Artifactory).
• Expand and maintain our tools for data governance, quality and lineage.
• Optimize current solution by creating reusable patterns .
• Support daily operation on the data platform (to have a perspective, we have 600+ pipelines collecting and transforming data from 20 source (DBs, APIs, SFTP etc).

What do we expect from you? 

Candidate should have proven knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data analysis. The most important factor is your personal drive to growth – you want to learn about modern technologies. However, you should already have: 

• Excellent knowledge of SQL (T-SQL) 

• experience with Spark framework and Python (ideally heard of pytest, flask, black or @decorator)  

In general, you have good communication skills and ability to speak in English with both business and IT.  

What will come in handy? 

• Knowledge of accounting and reporting in insurance business  

• Hands-on experience with some ETL framework
