YOUR ROLE:

As a Director, Resource Management, you will be a key driver in working with project managers, department leads and finance with the planning and allocating of resources by project, across a vast portfolio of work types and clients. You will be key in articulating our demand for resources and ensure capacity to meet staffing needs against deliverable timing.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring day-to-day project activities and corresponding resourcing
  • Capacity planning, i.e., making sure that a company’s resources have capacity to work on upcoming projects
  • Monitoring and managing workload, utilization, and overtime hours
  • Overcoming resource shortages by means of resource management techniques, reallocating resources, assigning more staff, informing senior management of any issues related to inability to meet clients’ needs due to resourcing
  • Work in tandem with project managers/operations leads in resolving resource management issues or improving resource management processes  
  • Partner with resource management professionals in the RAPP network to identify and engage available staff in other offices/offshore hubs
  • Knowing all the current and upcoming projects run in an organization and business development activities and being able to plan resourcing accordingly with PMO team
  • Monitor utilization to target performance, investigate outliers and recommend plan for remediation
  • Identify instances of current and potential future over/under utilization and work with leadership to address issues and mitigate risk
  • Optimize utilization by suggesting staffing decisions in support of the deployment strategy for the business
  • Resolve staffing conflicts to the satisfaction of all parties, which may include identifying staffing alternatives and negotiating with projects and resources
  • Escalate sensitive or high-risk staffing situations to leadership, as appropriate
  • Lead resource meetings to understand impacts to resource needs (new projects, timeline movement, etc.) and facilitate risk/issue mitigation
  • Maintain understanding of key resource management metrics and how these metrics impact practice financial performance
  • Proactively review staffing data and develop and communicate meaningful insights on trends, forecast, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern; provide suggestions for improvement
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners on forecasting and other analysis, as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative tasks and Workfront updates relating to project demands and resource availability

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • At least 8-10 years in project management, resource management, or operations with an experience and understanding of an agency environment
  • Solid understanding of data analysis/utilization
  • Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Prior experience with project management/resource management software (i.e., Workfront, Float, 10000ft/Smartsheet, etc.) preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and organized; ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strategic and tactical thinking + problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal presentation skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter, responsible, and accountable

This range is specific to Dallas and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
